Ecdesign is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it evolves rapidly around the world. We are prepared for a wide range of outcomes and our top priorities are to keep all our employees safe and to support the over 10,000 companies using Ecdesign. To our customers, we want to acknowledge that this is a difficult time and we will continue to put you at the center of everything we do. You can expect the same level of support as always. Our workforce has had the tools to work remotely for many years, so you can count on us being ready to help you if needed. Working remotely You can contact our support if you need to move your Ecdesign license to a temporary computer. Our Ecdesign Academy is a great place to start if looking to learn how to Ecdesign or improving your current skills. Taking care of our team In an effort to keep Ecdesign employees safe, Ecdesign has initiated a temporary restriction on all business travel. Although we love meeting face to face with our customers, partners, and prospects, we feel this is the right thing to do until such time as it’s safe to travel again. In the meantime we have several different options available to hold virtual meetings.
Looking to take your designs to the next level? Below is a floor plan created with Ecdesign and now we will tell you how we added some cool features to the finished design. 1. Custom flooring Here we used CUSTOM FLOOR SHAPES (square) to create the rubber flooring sections. Drag out the shape and size it the way you prefer. Finish by selecting a color or texture. The same CUSTOM FLOOR SHAPES tool was used to create the running track and the marking. 2. Custom wall material The next thing we did was add custom wall materials. You can change wall materials in both 2D or 3D view. Here we show the steps when in 3D. First select EDIT WALLS and then click on the wall you can want to change. Then select CUSTOM MATERIAL. Select an image from your computer and it will be placed on the wall. You can use the sliders (right side menu) and stretch/ move the image to your liking. 3. Night render & colored lights For this design we wanted to render images with a darker feel. So we set set the 3D to NIGHT TIME MODE. This you do by clicking the green icon in PRESENTATION OPTIONS. We also added the effect of having red ceiling spotlights. This was done by selecting EDIT ROOMS ( can be done in both 2D or 3D view). Then click on the green icon SPOTLIGHT COLOR to select a new color for the lights. Sample images ![]() In the past months ECDESIGN has worked on analyzing its climate footprint. The process has resulted in a clear strategy with clear climate and environmental target goals. The company also join the Breakit Impact Challenge, a digital bootcamp aimed at making the new business sector climate smart. The challenge was over 30 days and included 5 different steps (sustainable business model, climate smart travel, sustainable workplace, green supplier chain and climate compensation). We are happy to have completed all 5 steps in the challenge, however the work does not end there. Ecdesign is committed to continue its environmental efforts going forward to further reduce the company climate footprint with a vision to become climate neutral. |
